When should I get my travel vaccinations?

We advise getting travel vaccinations at least 8 weeks before you travel. Some vaccines need longer for your body to build immunity, and some require multiple doses spread over several weeks or months. If you're travelling sooner, we'll try our best to accommodate your needs.

Who is at higher risk whilst travelling?

If you fall into any of the groups below, we strongly advise getting vaccinated before you embark:

  • (1) Travelling to rural areas
  • (2) Backpacking
  • (3) Using hostels/camping accommodation
  • (4) Long trips (vs package holidays)
  • (5) Pre-existing health problems
Bring: itinerary + travel dates + vaccination history (if available)

Which travel vaccines do I need?

Recommendations depend on your itinerary and previous vaccination record. During your consultation, we'll review these and suggest vaccinations and/or antimalarials that may be required for your trip.

Some countries require proof of vaccination. Even when not required, we recommend keeping a record with you while travelling. For example, Saudi Arabia mandates proof of vaccination against specific strains of meningitis for visitors arriving for the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages.
